From VMware Engineer to Real Estate Photographer
For the last 10 years I've worked as an Systems Administrator with a focus on VMware. When I got into virtualization, I dove head first into consuming as much as I could find. Even going as far as to build out my own virtual lab. At this point you're probably asking what does this have to do with Real Estate Photography/Videography so let me cut to the chase.
Last year (2022) a friend of mine was selling his home in Charleston, SC . I offered my services to him as I've always been fond of architecture. The Realtor I worked with was very open-minded an willing to give me shot. After delivering the package my friend requested, he reached out to him and raved about the product and experience I was able to provide, especially since I was just starting out.
Since then, I've photographed a few more properties for him and some more friends to build up my portfolio. My wife and I recently relocated to Charlotte, and I've decided to focus full-time on real estate photography and videography. I recently partnered with a realtor who also relocated to Charlotte. I've invested in equipment, certifications, and training courses, as I did when I was studying to become a VMware engineer.
While I have some experience under my belt and believe my quality is up to par I'm still nervous. Some of the things that make me nervous is the fact I'm leaving something stable behind for uncertainty. That every by decision from hence forth regardless of outcome depends on a me. I am however, fortunate to have a supportive spouse in my corner who believes whole heartedly that this is what I'm meant to be doing. So if you are a realtor in the charlotte area looking to expand your marketing efforts I hope you would consider giving Peak Abode Media a try.
